Choreography Inspiration  

One of my favorite performers is Cat Coliandro. Cat was born and raised in Houston, Texas then went to school at SUNY to receive her BFA. She is an advocate for youth in the arts and started her own company CATASTROPHEE!. Her artistic aesthetic is geared more towards the intricacies and subtleties of music and movement. For example, in her dances she will perform bold movements and then, in following, do small hand gestures. I enjoy her movement so much because I relate to her style so well. In her choreographic process she focuses more on the feeling and shapes. I choose to emulate her movement in my choreography in the bold movements followed by small intricate gestures. In her performances she has a way of bringing in the audience and making them a part of the performance. I try to take that performance aspect into my own dancing by making eye contact with the audience and having reactions.
