ABOUT

Averi Mazur is a junior at the University of Southern Mississippi working towards a bachelor in fine arts degree. Although her roots are in the south, she did not grow up there. Averi attended a K-12 school in southwest Oklahoma, where she was active in the community and in her home studio. She was the president of her class in her junior year, and also lead community wide blood drives multiple times a year. In the studio she helped prepare all 500 students toward the spring recital and taught the pre-school classes during her summers.

In her free time Averi likes to travel, camp, and explore new inspiration for her art. Communication and creativity are at the base of her artistic values; these principles are shown through her movement and teaching.

Family is also an important aspect in Averi’s life. Her family consists of her mother, father, and two older sisters. They love to spend time around the table eating good food and laughing. Her family is her biggest support and continually push her further in her dance career.

In her dance career Averi has worked with many big names including Rhonda Miller, Thayne Jasperson, and Garrett Minetti at a dance convention she attends every year. For the past 6 years she has been a student; however, just last year the convention invited her to become a member.
